For 35 years, the Run for Education has been the biggest and best family fundraiser for the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation. This year’s Run is Sunday, October 14, with special Mini and Friendship Runs on Saturday, October 13. Here’s your chance to take advantage of special early registration pricing – using these discount codes when checking out:

MAYSAVE5 - $5 off on Sunday races and virtual runs - valid until 5/31/18.

In addition, there is a 15% Family Discount when you register 4 or more at one time.  This discount is valid on all of the Sunday runs except for virtual runs, and no code is needed.

Regular Sunday Race Pricing is:

Parent Volunteer Appreciation and PTA Honorary Service awards is this Wednesday from 12:05 p.m. until 12:50 p.m.  in the MPR.  Please make sure you have RSVP’d.  We hope to see everyone there! 

Open Positions:  The Alamo PTA has some open committee chair positions next year.  We would love your help! **The positions can also be shared!

-Yearbook chair: Assist Yearbook Chair with the yearbook planning and organization. Help to co-manage the committee. This position would look to fill the yearbook chair position the following year.

-Reflections Chair: Manage the PTA-wide art contest by collecting student art entries and showcasing them at the event. Plus, plan a pizza party with the principal with all the entrants.

-School Directory: Lay-out and edit the school directory data

-PTA Registration: Create an evite to the PTA board for volunteering at registration, make copies of appropriate forms, ensure signage is in place, help with setting up tables on day of, work with hospitality for volunteers

-Run for Education: Coordinate and manage the annual registrations of students and parents for the Run for Education through incentives and promotions. Coordinate entrants at the run on the day of.

-Special Needs Chair: Inform parents of the latest special needs news and updates from the district. Coordinate a coffee get together.

-Holiday Shoppe: Manage the holiday shop, including layout, volunteer coordination of set up and clean up, and gift selection

-School Directory Advertising: Work with the Sponsorship Chair to secure directory advertising

-Internet Communications: Update PTA website and help with Constant Contact e-blasts

-Social Media Chair: Helps with Alamo’s Facebook page.

-Hospitality: Provides hospitality at various PTA events (PTA Association meetings, Kindergarten getting to know you day, Parent Education speaker night/day).

PTA Service Awards

Honorary Service Awards are awarded to our PTA volunteers at the Service Award luncheon hosted by our Alamo Staff on Wednesday, May 16th

Our awards are as followed:

-Very Special Person Award (VSP) – This award is given to recognize an individual or organization for their service to PTA.

-Honorary Service Award (HSA) – This award is given to recognize an individual or organization for outstanding service to children and youth in your community, going above and beyond what is asked of them.

-Continuing Service Award (CSA) – This award is given to recognize an individual or organization for ongoing or long-time service to children and youth, providing support year after year.

-Outstanding Teacher Award (OTA) – This award may be given to recognize a teacher for outstanding service to children and youth through PTA, school, or community.

-Outstanding Administrator Award (OAA) – This award may be given to recognize an administrator for outstanding service to children and youth through PTA, school, or the community.

-Golden Oak Service Award (GOSA) – This award is given to recognize, as the most prestigious of the Honorary Service Awards, an individual or organization that has made significant contributions to the welfare of children and youth in a school or community.

SRV Council of PTAs

The mission of the San Ramon Valley Council of PTAs is to coordinate advocacy activities and to provide training, ideas and inspiration to parents, educators, students and unit PTAs, so that they can better support the needs of children and youth.
